Cherokee Social Joins Coyote Island at The Casbah for Their First National Tour
On Friday, August 23, rising indie-pop duo Cherokee Social will hit the stage at The Casbah in San Diego, opening for Coyote Island as part of a 20-date West Coast tour. This is their first national run under a major booking agency, a big moment for this up-and-coming band. The show kicks off at 7:30 PM, marking a milestone moment for the band as they take their music to new audiences across the country. Tickets are available here.
Formed just two years ago by frontman Julian Navarro and guitarist Alex Creighton, Cherokee Social has quickly built a name for themselves with their electrifying live shows and genre-blending sound. Their music weaves blues guitar, infectious pop songwriting, and Indigenous-influenced percussion into a style that feels both deeply personal and sonically expansive.
“We live together, we write together, we tour together,” Creighton shares. “This project is our entire world, and we pour everything we have into it.”
That dedication has already led them to sell out headlining shows, perform at Indigenous festivals like Vibes with the Tribes and Merciless Savages, and share the stage with heavy-hitting artists including Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Macy Gray.
For Navarro and Creighton, a Cherokee Social show is more than just music; it’s about creating a space where differences dissolve. “We want to give our audience a place to let go,” Creighton explains. “Laugh, cry, dance, feel — whatever it is, we want to hold that space for them. Because this world is chaotic. And if we can give even a few minutes of peace, joy, or catharsis… we’ve done our job.”
While they’re gearing up for the road, Cherokee Social is also deep in the process of crafting their debut album, a record that promises to bring their unique indie-pop vision into full form. With the upcoming Casbah date, San Diego fans will get an early taste of the energy and connection that’s winning over new listeners in every city they visit.
