Album Preview: The Faint Havens (Out September 21, 2025)
Psychedelic music has always thrived at the edges of atmosphere and imagination, and with his debut self-titled record, The Faint Havens, 23-year-old songwriter and producer Christian is ready to prove he’s more than prepared to push the genre forward.
Drawing inspiration from acts like Brian Jonestown Massacre, My Morning Jacket, The Black Angels, and The Warlocks, Christian has written, produced, and performed every instrument on the album himself, which is an impressive feat that instantly sets him apart. The result is a body of work that promises to be both deeply personal and sonically expansive, a swirling trip through fuzzed-out guitar tones, echo-drenched vocals, and immersive grooves.
Before assembling a live band to bring his vision to the stage, Christian crafted The Faint Havens as a solitary exploration. That sense of creative control is woven throughout the record: the songs carry a unified voice and cinematic pacing, designed to pull listeners deeper into the haze. His production style is richly layered yet immediate, pointing to a meticulous ear for both texture and melody.
The Faint Havens arrives everywhere September 21, 2025, with a pre-save campaign already underway. Following the release, Christian and his newly formed live band will take the songs to the stage, including an album release and label showcase in mid-October that will mark the project’s next big step.
San Diego fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new songs live. On October 28th at Soda Bar, The Faint Havens will perform as part of Pink Breath of Heaven’s West Coast Tour 2025, alongside Vondré and Memory Leak. This show doubles as a hometown celebration of the record and a chance to see the project evolve from a one-man recording vision into a fully realized live band.
Christian has managed to channel decades of psych-rock influence while carving his own path that is youthful, ambitious, and sonically bold. This debut album isn’t just another release on the calendar; it’s a defining first statement from an exciting rising voice in the genre.
