Ben Parks Announces ‘Ecotone, Pt. II’ — A Triumphant and Tender Return

San Diego-based singer-songwriter Ben Parks releases his anticipated follow-up record, Ecotone, Pt. II, on November 7 (today), completing a deeply personal two-part series that has defined a new chapter of his artistry. Alongside the record, Parks is debuting three new visualizers, further expanding the cinematic world he’s built since his first Ecotone release.

Two years ago, Parks’ Ecotone, Pt. I marked a turning point, a bold departure from his roots in Gospel music. Growing up as a pastor’s kid in Birmingham, Alabama, Ben’s early years were steeped in worship and spirituality. But his move to California, his coming out journey, and his process of rediscovering faith and identity gave rise to a new voice, one that bridged his past and present rather than rejecting either.

The term “ecotone” refers to a transitional space between two ecosystems, and that metaphor runs deep in Parks’ music. His debut installment was painted with 80’s synths, cinematic longing, and confessional storytelling, a sonic reflection of someone standing between worlds.

Now, with Ecotone, Pt. II, Parks returns more grounded yet just as vulnerable. Across five new songs, including last year’s singles “All My Love” and “Attachment Theory”, he explores the next stage of becoming, what it feels like to arrive, to let go, and to find beauty in the in-between. The production, done in collaboration with Orange County producer Nathan Cimino (Sia, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus), delivers lush alt-pop textures and an emotional depth reminiscent of The 1975, MUNA, and Maggie Rogers, all filtered through Parks’ soulful and cinematic lens.

Ecotone, Pt. II begins now,” Parks says, signaling not just the release of an album, but the culmination of a personal evolution that has unfolded publicly through his art.

Over the past two years, Ben has built a devoted following in the Southern California music scene, performing at The Casbah, the San Diego County Fair, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla. He’s a two-time San Diego Music Award nominee, and continues to merge deeply emotional songwriting with visual storytelling that captures the heart of his journey
