Chorduroy Sinks Their Teeth Into “Vampiress,” A Fuzzy, Fever-Dream of Garage Psych Mayhem
San Diego’s own Chorduroy return with “Vampiress,” a snarling new single that drips with distortion, tension, and just enough swagger to make chaos sound seductive. The track is a feverish dive into the grip of a metaphorical soul-sucker, the kind of toxic muse that drains you dry but keeps you coming back for more.

Blending trippy garage punk energy with heavy psych textures, “Vampiress” bites hard and doesn’t let go. From its grinding riffs to its sneering vocal delivery, the song captures the band’s signature mix of grit and weirdness, a sound that’s equal parts hypnotic and unhinged. As Return of Rock put it, “It’s loud, wild, and weirdly addictive.”
Since forming in 2020, Chorduroy has carved out their own corner of the underground. DIY to the core, building momentum through relentless shows, self-shot videos, and a growing catalog of fuzzed-out anthems. Their debut album, “Voice of Reason,” was recorded at Thee Oh Sees’ studio with Eric Bauer and John Dwyer, a fitting birthplace for a band whose sound nods to garage rock’s wildest fringes.
Over the years, they’ve shared the stage with acts like Meatbodies, Levitation Room, Death Lens, Los Espiritus, and Worn Tin, steadily earning their stripes as one of Southern California’s loudest, most unpredictable live bands. And with more singles on the way and a sophomore album slated for 2026, “Vampiress” feels like both a warning and a promise: the next era of Chorduroy is here, and it’s not pulling any punches.
